The Elder building 11 Cliff Street was built for Dalgety and Company of London. The opening ceremony was conducted by the Premier Walter James on Friday 29th August 1902. Architect J.J.T. Hobbs, Builder W.H. Vincent. Phillimore Chambers was built 1899, designed by Wilkinson, Smith and Wilson. R.S. Wade set up the Fremantle Printery in 1911. In 1957 the business was made into a limited company and in 1981 was sold to Port Printing. Dock buildings: erected 1898/1899 for E.H. Dean Smith. Customs House: built 1908 of brick and Donnybrook stone at a cost 9386 pounds. Plans prepared by the P.W.D. and Contractors: Ashman and Warner.Date1927Photograph FormatPhotographDigital ItemYes
