The Hood was part of the special service squadron that visited Fremantle, together with the Repulse (26,500 tons) and the light cruisers Danae, Dauntless, Delhi, Dunedin and Dragon, each of 4,850 tons. The ships arrived on Wednesday 27.02.1924. Hood and two cruisers berthed at Victoria Quay, while the Repulse and the other three cruisers berthed at North Wharf. Extraordinary interest was aroused and the wharf side crowds were huge.
