Reference numberLH000485DescriptionSir Frank Gibson was born in Egerton, Victoria and educated at Grenville College and Ballarat School of Mines. Came to W.A. in 1902 and first went to Cue on the Murchison goldfields and then to Leonora where he was councillor for some years before being elected Mayor in 1912. In 1914 he moved to Fremantle where he opened a business as a pharmaceutical chemist. Mayor of Fremantle 1919-1923, 1927-1951. 1948 made a Knight Bachelor. Died 31.12.1965.
