Reference numberEF0014DescriptionOn the right is the Plympton Post and Telegraph Office, opened 14.03.1898. The name changed to East Fremantle Post Office in 1899. The first Post Master, Master J. Adams, was appointed March 1898. The building was later the home of the State Emergency Service. Towards the centre is the Police Station, Quarters and Lock-up, built c1900 of limestone; with the Town Hall beyond. The foundation stone for the Town Hall was laid in 1899 by Sir John Forrest.
