J & W Bateman on corner of Croke and Henry Streets (1870's to after 1886). The foundation stone for the Sailors Rest was laid by Sir John Forrest on 9 October 1899 and comprised a concert hall, sitting and dining rooms and a haven and refuge for sailors visiting the port. In 1976 it was a boarding house known as Port Lodge.
