Reference numberES00364DescriptionOctober 1972 Cliff Street with a partial view of the Reckitt and Colman fa?â•‘ade (Nos. 21-29 built 1890-1895) and Lionel Samson Pty Ltd ( Nos. 31-33 built 1898). The Reckitt and Colman fa?â•‘ade was added between 1890 and 1895 to 1880 buildings. Over the years the buildings housed the offices of a number of Fremantle firms including Falk and Co., D & J Fowler, William Sandover, Robert Harper and Co. as well as the Bank of New South Wales, Ellershaw and Co., and the Bunyip Soap Company. Finally Lionel Samson used the building as their agency for Reckitt and Colman until they moved to O'Connor in 1962. In 1967 Lionel Samson Pty Ltd demolished the rear of the building for parking but the fa?â•‘ade was retained through the efforts of Alec Smith then of Hotel Fremantle and cartoonist Paul Rigby. In 1980 the southern wing was demolished for truck access.Date1972PhotographerEdmonds, MurrayPhotograph FormatSlideDigital ItemYes
