Partial view also of Crane House, 185 High Street (converted into 21 apartments including a penthouse in 2007- 2008 and known as Gallery Suites Luxury Apartments). Sinbads Nightclub was originally built as the Hibernian Hall. In 1893 a lodge room was built on one half of Lot 388 High Street for the Hibernian Australasia Catholic Benefit Society. It was one of a number of Friendly Societies, which existed at the time. Wage earners would make payments to the Society to cover themselves for illness and old age. From 1923/24 to 1952 the building was known as the Scottish Hall. In the early 1960's operated as a betting shop. By 1968 it was known as the "Nite Club".
