Reference numberLH000309DescriptionH.M.S. Hood in Fremantle Harbour (Victoria Quay). The Hood was part of a special service squadron on a world cruise, 1923-1924. Other vessels included the Repulse (26,500 tons) and the light cruisers Danae, Dauntless, Delhi, Dunedin and Dragon each of 4,850 tons. Extraordinary interest was aroused and wharf side crowds were huge. The Hood was blown up by S.M.S. Bismark on 24.05.1941 in the Denmark Strait.Date1924PhotographerOrloff, A.
