Note: Johnston Court Flats, Adelaide Street opened July 1970: on the site of the previous Johnston Memorial (Union) Church, demolished in December 1968. Norfolk Street. Essex Street. Dave Johnson Motors on the corner of Essex Street and Marine Terrace demolished September/October 1984 to make way for extensions to Esplanade Hotel. This area was originally known as the Old Establishment as convicts were housed on this site before the building of Fremantle Prison. The Essex Street woolstores were also demolished by Breakthru Demolitions in Setember 1984 for the Esplanade Hotel. Collie Street Pakenham Street Market Street Cantonment Street. Elders Woolstores. Adelaide Street. Coles New World Supermarket constructed 6.08.1969 on the site of St Joseph's Convent, demolished September 1968. William Street. Spicers, demolished September 1970. South Terrace. Scots Church. Sir John Forrest laid the foundation stone for the church on 26.03.1890. The architect was J. Talbot Hobbs and it was completed by November 1890 at a cost of 2000 pounds. The church cottage, built c1904, was demolished June 1985 for the Parry Street extension. Jewish Synagogue. Site vacant where Stan Reilly Social Centre and Frail Aged Lodge now stands.
