Falk Building, corner Henry and Phillimore Streets, was built 1888 and extended in 1896 and 1903 (around the corner into Phillimore Street). Architect: F.W. Burwell. Facade classified by the National Trust. F.C.C. Weighbridge Cliff Street was built c1901. Capacity of 20 tons (modern weighbridges have a capacity of 40 tons). 6 pence (5c) a weigh. Ceased operating 19.04.1984 and closed 24.12.1984. Elders woolstores Views of High Street, Adelaide Street, Arthur Head, Phillimore Street, the Oval. Pioneer Reserve was opened Arbour Day 3rd July 1940. His Excellency the Lieut. Governor Sir James Mitchell K.C.M.G. planted the first tree.
