Pale green and turquoise joinery. A competition for the design of the building was conducted through the Royal Institute of Architects, and was won by Messrs Marshall Clifton, ARAIA, and Eric Leach, ARAIA. The centre was opened on 20.12.1950 and the Ante Natal Clinic in November 1953. The Dental and Immunisation Clinic was later added. The centre is now called Birmingham Clinic after Dr H.J. Birmingham who was a member of the Board of Management and an Honorary Medical Officer to Fremantle Hospital from its inception until he resigned in 1915.
