Built 1899 by Fairfield Glasgow for the Orient Steam Navigation Company Ltd. 8130 tons. Provided a balm for shareholders, after the experience of her predecessor, the glamourous and financially disastrous "Ophir". Employed as a transport from 1916 onwards.
