The Service proceeded to the point where the Emblems (Letters Patent and the City Flag) were to be consecrated, blessed and dedicated. The Venerable Ralph Thomas consecrated the Emblems with the words - "In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, we do consecrate the set apart these Emblems, that they may be signs of our duty towards our City in the sight of God and our Queen and all men."
