Note: London House (in 1985 Sussan's Lingerie and Sportswear, 100 High Street). Bird finial. Pellews. J.H. Pellew first appears as an occupier of shop/rooms in 1898. In 1905 he died and Henry Herbert Oxbrow purchased the business from the executor of his estate. Town Hall opened 22.06.1887. Manning Buildings (Breckler Bros.) 109-113 High Street. Wooden blocks. Laid 1898, supplied by the W.A. Timber Company Lockeville (Wonnerup). During the laying of the tramlines they were removed. This led to problems as water was trapped underneath and the blocks swelled. They were finally removed in the 1950s.Date1905Photograph FormatPhotographDigital ItemYes
