Reference numberLH000552DescriptionNote Orient Hotel on right, designed by Cavanagh and Cavanagh 1897. According to Evening Courier, it was built in 1902. Owned by the Parry family from 1923 to 1972/3, the hotel was always well run and dignified, known for its beautiful silverware and white linen damask table cloths. Collar and tie were worn by patrons and the Parrys kept an extra coat and tie for use by businessmen who arrived without one.
