Reference numberLH000619DDescriptionAfter much discussion as to location, a bill to authorise construction of a dry dock was passed 19.12.1907. The proposal was for a double ended dry dock 550' long by 100' wide by 33' deep at an estimated cost of 285,000 pounds. The project was abandoned in 1912 due to problems with the limestone foundation and recommenced to construct the present Nos 1, 2 and 3 berths between 1913 and 1915.
