Reference numberLH000712ADescriptionThis was a post card, sent from Cottesloe. It shows the Time Signal Station (using a large time ball) which was probably built in 1902. In 1905 it was moved near the Round House and a new Battery constructed on the old site. The light house is the second on Arthur Head, in use from 1876-1905. The original light house was used between 1849/1850 and about 1876. The construction of the occulting three segment light at Woodman Point in 1903 and the completion of port lights on the North and South Moles rendered the Arthur Head light redundant.Date1905Photograph FormatPhotographDigital ItemYes
