It shows the flags , funnels etc of interstate mail and overseas shipping companies. The union Stores commenced business c1896 and were divided into three shops with the following departments: Groceries and provisions; Wines, beers and spirits; Crockery, earthenware and glass; Tools; Builders' hardware; Mantelpieces and stoves; Furniture; Cutlery and electroplate; Furnishing hardware; Bicycles and sporting goods.
