James Austin (Superintendent of Works, Public Works Department) was the architect in conjunction with the Colonial Secretary, William Ayshford Sanford. The school building was restored by architect R. McK. Campbell in 1973/1974 for use by the Perth Institute of Film and Television. On the right is the corner of Clancy's Tavern. At the extreme left is part of St. Patrick's Cathedral, Johnston Court Flats are in the centre background, with the Port Cinema to the right.
