Reference numberLH001005BDescriptionOn the suggestion of Mrs H C McCarthy in the late 1920s, the Mayor of North Fremantle, Robert Bracks called a public meeting which formed a committee to establish a tennis club. Permission to use a portion of the North Fremantle Oval was granted and the courts built by busy bees with the assistance of several members of Council. The courts were officially opened by the Hon W C Angwin, MLA, Minister for Works on 11.02.1922. The only members identified are: front row, third from left: Winnie Crow; Enid Gray (now Meirs); Ron Moore, son of Elsie Moore (nee Rose) sitting to his right; Gar Smith.
