Reference numberLH001035DescriptionThe Western Australian Bank was designed by J Talbot Hobbs and built in 1892. It was altered in 1903 to create a larger banking chamber by relocating six offices and installing a large iron girder. J Pringle was the contractor and Mr Mell supervised the work. The banking chamber was floored with ornamental tiles and finished with polished cedar fittings. Following intense competition in the banking industry, the bank was sold to the Bank of New South Wales in 1927.Date1896Photograph FormatPhotographDigital ItemYes
