The Railway Workshops were erected in Cliff Street in 1886, but after much argument were relocated to Midland. On 4th January 1904, 399 men from the car and wagon branch were transferred from Fremantle and the remaining men, about 600, a year later. The removal of the Railway Workshops was a great loss to Fremantle, causing the population to decline by 203 between 1901 and 1911.Date1900Photograph FormatPhotographDigital ItemYes
