Reference numberLH001231CDescriptionThe Princess May School was built in 1900 to designs by the Public Works Department. It was built of Cottesloe stone with a slate roof and cost 12908 pounds. The Duchess of Cornwall and York gave the school her name in July 1901 as the Royal couple were returning to London after the opening of the Federal Parliament in Melbourne. The school was officially opened by Lady Lawley on 5.08.1901.
