Reference numberLH001472DescriptionFremantle Railway Station was built in 1907. Note the tracks and footbridge in the foreground and taxi cabs and gardens in front of the station. Opposite is Uglieland, now Pioneer Park, on the corner of Market and Phillimore Streets. This fairground was set up by the Ugly Mens' Association as a fund raiser. Elder Smiths warehouse (built 1917 with additions in 1926, 1938 and 1944) is in the centre background.
