Reference numberLH001761DescriptionThe Hydrodrome and the South Beach Jetty. The Hydrodrome was constructed from the materials of the Number 8 Australian Base Hospital, which was at the southern end of the Fremantle Oval. The Hydrodrome included change rooms, and tearooms and a dance floor upstairs. Winter storms damaged the building and the upper floor was removed in the 1950s, and the entire building demolished in 1964.
