Reference numberLH001869DescriptionConstruction of South Fremantle tram line route at Market and South Terrace corner. Douro Road remained the original and only terminus. Beaconsfield was extended from Davies to Carrington Street, Marmion Street line from Duke to Carrington Street and later re-located to McKimmie Street. The Allen Street terminus of the East route was extended eventually to Stock Road in the Melville Roads Board territory. Funeral directors A.E. Davies in Collie Street, later moved to premises on corner of Bannister Street (originally Holmes Bros. butchers shop (1923-24). Note pawnbrokers shops (indicated by three balls) on both sides of the street. Mannering and Clark, printers and bookbinders on right. Single storied shops on right to Bannister Street, later to be re-developed as two storied premises ie. Higham Buildings in 1912.
