Bank of N.S.W. centre, erected 1899, offices of the Fremantle Gazette newspaper since Dec 1983. Tree in grounds of W.F. Samson's home. H. Graves and Co. Carriers, Cliff Street. Before the advent of the motor car the ubiquitous agent, or carrier, was an indispensible and energetic assistant to luggage-burdened passengers. Jarrah paving blocks laid 1898, removed to lay tram tracks.
