Vacant land on right will become Pioneer Reserve; the houses that had been there were demolished subsequent to resumption by Government. South-eastern corner of Railway Workshops reserve is prominent. Operations had been transferred to midland when this photograph was taken. Four cottages in Elder Place demolished in 1906 for Horrocks and Wadham. Two storey villa was erected for Mr John Lewis in the 1890's. Tenders for the building were called in the "Inquirer" 3/09/1890.
