Reference numberLH002770BDescriptionThe SS Dimboola arrived in Fremantle on 10.04.1919 with several cases of Spanish Influenza on board. Some cases were sent to Woodman's Point Quarantine Station. The ship was fumigated and, instead of being quarantined for seven days, the authorities decided to unload it using non-union labour. This contributed to the Bloody Sunday riot and the subsequent death of wharfie Tom Edwards.Date1919Photograph FormatPhotographDigital ItemYes
