Reference numberLH005152DescriptionThe Cabin Tea Rooms were a popular Fremantle institution from 1913 up to 1947/1948; catering for weddings, making celebration cakes and providing meals and snacks. Mrs B Evans, a confectioner, occupied 106 High Street in 1910 and in 1913 the Cabin Tea Rooms were at 121 High Street, with Mrs Evans' office at 106. Later they moved to 32 Market Street where the pastry cook was E R Evans, son of Ernest Albert and Blanche Rose Evans. Ernest Redmond Evans had bought Aldgate c1924 and married Alice Tuxworth at St John's on the 6th February 1926.
