Reference numberLH005259DescriptionAgnes and Mary Hogan in uniform as students at King Street Convent School in 1930. At this time, the East Fremantle parish was an annexe of St Patrick's Church in Fremantle. It did not become a separate parish until 21.12.1938. The Catholic community around the school was mostly Irish. Nuns ran the school in a limestone building which was turned into a church every weekend. During the Second World War, the nuns were given one week to evacuate the convent which was to be turned into a military hospital. In 1970, the King Street School closed.Date1930PhotographerNot known Photograph FormatPhotographDigital ItemYes
