Reference numberLH005278DescriptionThe Eastern Gates Lookout was opened at a special ceremony in the grounds of John Curtin College of the Arts on Wednesday 8th June, 2005. The project was conceived as a memorial to the history of the area, in particular the Skinner Street Cemetery which occupied the land now used as the playing fields of the school and whose eastern gates stood near the spot. There is a limestone seat and twelve bronze plaques. Wendy Markmann was the historical researcher for the project which was coordinated by the P&C Association.Date2006PhotographerBrown, DavidPhotograph FormatPhotographDigital ItemYes
