Reference numberLH005292DescriptionIn 1994, a group in Fremantle initiated a project to build a replica of the seventeenth century Dutch ship Duyfken, a nineteen metre pinnace. The keel was laid January 11th 1997 and the Duyfken was launched on Sunday 24th January 1999. The project cost $3.7 million. After rigging and sea trials, the Duyfken made a voyages to Indonesia and then retraced the 1606 journey to Australia.
