1997 - The Fremantle Tourist Bureau located in Kings Square Fremantle was purchased and subsequently operated as a private enterprise. 2007 - To align with the accreditation standards for VJCs in Western Australia, the centre was renamed to Fremantle Visitor Centre. 2011 - The City of Fremantle acquired the Fremantle Visitor Centre. resulting in a transition to a local government-funded operation model. 2018 - To support the Kings Square development project. the Fremantle Visitor Centre relocated to the Fremantle Town Hall building. 2020-2022 - Successfully navigated the COVID-19 pandemic and industry changes by adapting to remote work and temporarily pausing staff and volunteer activities during the period of uncertainty. 2022 - The Fremantle Visitor Centre opened in the new. vibrant. and welcoming Walyalup Koort.
