Named afterMajor (later)Colonel Finnerty WA Pensioner Forces 1876 - was in charge in 1876 when the 'Georgette' endeavoured to obtain from the Captain of the American vessel 'Catalpa', the return of the escaped Fenian convicts.DescriptionEastern end of Burt St from East St to bend previously called Finnerty St, now known as Burt Street, council minutes 20/3/1993.
