Named afterWilliam Arnold Fleay - born in Melbourne 22.03.1928. He was the son of William and Clarice Fleay (nee Bengough). Between 1934 and 1941 he attended Kensington Primary School (South Perth), and between 1941–1943, Kent Street High and Perth Tech. 1944 and 1945 were spent at Perth Modern School and from 1946–1950 he attended the University of Western Australia, Engineering School. In 1950 he married Coralie Jean Wilson, they had 5 children William, Frances, Elizabeth, Claire and Richard. Coralie died in 1979. William married June Edumds(?) (nee Smith) in 1979. William worked in the Department of Public Works, Pilbara District 1950–1954, Comprehensive Water Scheme 1954–1961, Harbours and Rivers, Fremantle 1961–1979 and was Resident Engineer, Fremantle Harbour Works from 1970.
