Named afterSamuel Graves Fullston was born in South Australia on 13th June 1878. He arrived in WA in 1900. He married Clara Hall on 23rd December 1903. He purchased a fruit and vegetable shop on the corner of Douro Rd and Thomas St in 1903-1904 and lived across the road in Douro Road where the couple raised 10 children. In 1926-1927 he built a shop on the corner of Hampton and Lefroy Streets. He worked as a wharfie from 1915 until the 1950s, previous to this he worked for the Harbour Trust. The shop was run by his daughters until it was requisitioned as a storehouse during WWII. The family remained in the attached house.
