Named afterCaptain Daniel Scott was the first Harbour Master* and first chairman of the Town Trust, 1848-1851, 1853–1854, 1856–1858. *Mark John Currie listed officially as first Harbour Master, although Captain Scott carried out the duties of Harbour Master. (See 387.1 file)
