AuthorBrain, Alison V.DescriptionA research project outlining the history of no. 48 George Street, East Fremantle, a corner store built in 1905, and its surroundings. 48 George Street has been the home of a variety of businesses, such as a green grocers, grocers and confectioners, but most of the time it has been a liquor outlet of one description or another. In the early 1920's the grocer's shop added to the business by opening the room next door as a saloon, then in the 1930's the grocers shop was closed and that became part of the saloon and from the 1970's it has been a liquor store.
