Molyneux notes that the site owners erected a 'substation of virtually exactly the same dimensions.... The substation is the building next to the original hotel part in Collie Street. During the same demolitions for the hotel extensions, the entire area from Collie to Norfolk, from Marine Tce back to the inland line of this building, was covered with iron sheds which, when demolished, exposed an extensive array of limestone fittings and / or wall remains, said to be part of an enlarged convict works depot and / or early accommodation.'Dewey Class725.35 MOLPublication FormatReport
