Measurements and observations are related to data contained in preceding reports on the basic marine ecology of the Sound (1970, 1971). Within the long-term monitoring programme, this report constitutes a transitional phase between the descriptive reports of the marine environment ofthe Sound and the documentation of the effect of increased human utilization on the stability of the ecosystem.
