Sir Frederick Samson Park was examined as part of the formulation of the Department of Conservation and Environment's System Six report. Three recommendations were made for the area. One of these was to develop a management plan for the Park. The resulting management plan examines the reserve firstly in terms of its physical, biological and social (planning) aspects which are described along with management implications. In the second part of the document a Plan for Management of the park is presented which details methods of controlling disturbance to the natural environment and for its rehabilitation.
