Fremantle Port AuthorityDescriptionThe Fremantle Port Authority has responsibility for the safe operation of the Inner Harbour, the State's primary mixed cargo and container port, and the Outer Harbour which primarily services the Kwinana industrial area, mining and rural hinterland. In order to optimally manage the risks to the public from port operations, the FPA commissioned a Port Safety Study. The objectives of the Port Safety Study were to determine the risk levels generated by the Port under current and predicted future conditions, and to develop the structure of a comprehensive and auditable Safety Management System (SMS) for the port.
