The railway line itself remained open and in continuous use for freight traffic. It is the policy of the Government to re-introduce passenger services on the Perth Fremantle line. This report considers the practicalities and costs of re-introducing the Perth-Fremantle passenger services, and submits 14 recommendations as part of its findings. The report draws heavily on operating and cost information supplied by the MTT (who drew upon advice from Westrail), and discussions held with railway unions, "Friends of the Railways" group and with officers of the Fremantle City CouncilImprintPerth, W.A.
