AuthorMunro, DavidDescriptionCharles and Louisa Munro were long time residents of North Fremantle. Charles came from Victoria in 1893 to try his hand at prospecting in the Kalgoorlie Goldfields. Settling in North Fremantle around 1895, he lived there until his death in 1969. He married Louisa in St John's in Fremantle in 1903. Louisa's family, the Nugents and the Allens, had lived in Fremantle since around 1850. A local sporting identity, Charles Munro played A Grade Penants for the North Fremantle Cricket Club between 1903 and 1912. He also represented W.A. at 3 interstate matches. His best bowling figures were 10 wickets for 11 runs in 1911, a record which still stood in 1997. He was also a founding member of the East Fremantle Football Club. With his son Allen, he professionally fished the waters around Fremantle and Rottnest from the early 1930's to the 1970'sImprintDianella, W.A.
