Pedestrian strategy plan for Fremantle central area
DESCRIPTION
AuthorHenwood, RobertDescriptionDevelops a pedestrian scheme as one component in a long term planning strategy for the Fremantle central area. The study compares the problems of the pedestrian in the Fremantle central area with those of pedestrians throughout the world and examines the principles necessary for creation of an effective pedestrian strategy. The study area is then identified from the Regional Land Use pattern. All the features within the central area that contribute to the development of a pedestrian strategy are the subject of an indepth study. In the final 2 chapters, the existing pedestrian convenience is analysed in terms of its practical capacities and dangers. Finally, the pedestrianization strategy is developed and each sector is analysed by a notational appraisal code.
