Corporate AuthorFremantle Port AuthorityDescriptionThis study was commissioned to identify if the growth in trade will severely overstrain the expanded capacity of the redeveloped Inner Harbour, if so, to determine when it will occur, to determine if the current Inner Harbour could reasonably meet the forecast demands on the Port in the period 2010 and beyond, and to identify a long-term Port development plan. The study set out to examine the potential for Port developments within Cockburn Sound, including further development at the current site, having regard for marine, land and environmental planning aspects. The objective of Stage 1 of the study was to determine the nature of alternative Port developments at a number of potential sites. This stage 1 report sets out the fundamental issues relating to the selection of a preferred option, defines the problems associated with formulation of long-term port development policies, and presents alternative port development concepts at four sites within the Fremantle Port boundaryImprintFremantle, W.A.
