Giuseppe Bombara arrived in Fremantle c1901 and found employment with the Re family who had a fruit and vegetable store in North Fremantle. His sons Giacomo and Giuseppe Jnr arrived in 1910 and 1912 respectively. Santa Bombara and her four daughters :- Francesca, Santa , Filippa and Vincenza followed in 1922. The family's first home was in Suffolk Street. In 1926 they purchased a three bedroom weatherboard home in Stokes Street, Beaconsfield. The family lived here until 1946 and the house, garden and family activities are described in detail. Francesca married Giuseppe Raneri, a Fremantle tailor was interned during WW11.Mr Raneri was responsible for designing the shrine at Harvey in memory of the Italian internees.ImprintBunbury, W.A.
