This house was built in 1919 for the owner William H. Rogers and the first occupant was James Bell Mackay. Prior to the construction of this house the lot had been the site of a cottage, shed and woodyard. Demolished 2010. In 1931, the former property was owned and occupied by Gertrude Bidwell. In the following year the property was transferred to Gertrude Andrews who occupied the cottage until at least 1935. This is likely to be the same person and the name change is a result of her marriage.Physical DescriptionDemolished 2010. Former description was - "10 Douglas Street is a single storey fibre cement house. It is the original house, however it has undergone alterations. Although the original form can be read, much of the original materials have been replaced.
