Recent fibro additions are not significant. The place contributes to a substantially intact late nineteenth and early twentieth century streetscape close to the centre of Fremantle.ArchaeologyConditionHistoryEllen Street was named for Ellen Mangles of Woodbridge, Surrey, England, wife of Sir James Stirling, the Governor. A house was erected on the lot for James Gallop in 1898. Physical DescriptionTwo storey painted stone and painted tuck pointed brick house which has fibro clad additions to the façade. The terracotta tile hipped roof has a faceted gable which extends from the faceted bay and two rendered chimneys with corbelling.
